While my number one priority is ensuring that each of my brides have a wedding that is uniquely their own, I love ensuring that their weddings reflect the style of the day while still being timeless. While I am always a little weary of the word, “trendy,” there’s so much value to capturing the spirit of the day at your wedding! Incorporating a particular trend can be done with the just the right balance of moderation!
I recently had the honor of styling a wedding at Kestrel Park in Santa Ynez, Ca. (as featured on Utterly Engaged!). If you are looking for a dreamy location that transports you to the romance of an English garden, this is your place! One 2018 trend I am more than happy to incorporate into weddings is potted plants and puff flowers as aisle décor. Martha Stewart Magazine shared from Ginny Au, “What better way to pay homage to the quintessential English garden than using potted plants in your ceremony décor?” For our Kestrel Park wedding, I loved using puff flowers sticking out from the aisles, it was so lush!
No favor, por favor! One trend that I hope is here to stay is fewer party favors. In another blog post, I shared that one must for my husband and I at our wedding was to ensure that our guests felt celebrated, as well. We wanted them to feel pampered and special and chose to invest in that! Provide an experience for your guests they won’t experience anywhere else! THAT’S what will make your wedding memorable. My husband and I had a cell phone charging station for our guests at our wedding. And I totally love the idea of a fun after hours cover band!
When it comes to wedding accents, I love incorporating geodes. They bring such a touch of magic to a table setting! Another accent I love to see at a wedding are bold touches of black, black wedding cakes or plate chargers. They are a strikingly eye-catching statement of elegance!
As always, what makes a wedding most unique and timeless are the personal details that represent you as a couple!
